Great Western Railway Collett Coaches

Built concurrent with the 1938 stock these non-corridor designs shared the same body profile and were also of different lengths; three of which were not used for corridor coaches. It appears that the 1937 built coaches all had a long arching rain-strip that ran from the top of the cornice at each end of the coach and rose about half way up the roof in the middle of the roof. Also built as the same time were 7 coaches for the Burry Port and Gwendraeth Valley line. These were much smaller and more akin to a typical Dean Low Roof coach due to the restrictive loading gauge of the line.
