Note I'm not convinced by the accuracy of this drawing as it shows that the van space has been converted from a compartment. The only coach built on lot 396 with 4 compartments was never allocated a diagram number, whilst the other brake coach built on this lot had 3 compartments and I suspect was not built with a psuedo door as shown, but with proper panels.
But I do believe that this drawing actually correct for all the T8s that were converted from S18.
The conversion is half way between a proper conversion and a bastard conversion in that the windows have been removed and replace with wooden panels, yet the door window and ventillator remain.

In the records there is a lot of confusion about the T51/T52 family and the subsequent conversions to S14/S15/T42 to T46.   This involves 2 lots built to style LA7TN and 2 lots built to style LE7N.  For some reason there was not a diagram that specifically covered a T51 with out guard's duckets.  Instead they were shown together with T53.   Similarly T45 appears to show coaches of both LA7TN and LE7N styles.   There is further confusion as 7 coaches that ought to be T52 are shown in the Diagram Book as T51.   The finer detail is even more confusing as one lot of each style was built with 20' wheelbase and the other lot 22'.   Also, at least one coach received a 19' chassis at sometime.

Here I have presented each design as a separate diagram to help the historian and modeller.
